Collaborative robot – cobot applications
To complete our range of sanding systems, GEBE2 now supplies a collaborative robot based on the cobot SYB 3 from the French manufacturer ISYBOT.
Collaborative robots revolutionise finishing processes such as sanding and polishing, offering precision and optimum efficiency. It’s designed to collaborate safely with operators, improving productivity while reducing the hardship of labor.

This collaborative robot is easy to control in 3 operating modes:
Assistance: The operator performs the toolpath, the robot applies the desired force and absorbs a huge amount of tool vibrations.
Playback: The operator performs a first toolpath, the robot repeats the trajectory by applying the force and the desired forward speed. The operator can take control of the robot any time.
Parallelisation: The operator teaches 2 or 4 points on a flat or curved surface, the robot sands automatically this line or area (depending on the number of teached points.
For each operation mode the operator can use the user-friendly interface to define different sanding parameters, such as the applied force, the rotation speed of the sander…

This enables us to detect and consider any potential constraints related to the customer’s environment for future integration. It also initiates communication with production teams to involve and raise their awareness.
GEBE2 provides its customers and prospects the opportunity to rent a cobot for one month to test the solution within their facilities, determine the range of parts that can be sanded using the equipment, and study how to reorganise production to integrate the cobot. This step allows various production teams to try out the machine.
